Short CV: David W. Kim is an Associate Professor and Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society and Royal Historical Society, specializing in astronaut selection, space safety, and Mars mission psychology. He serves at ANU’s Institute for Space, was a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University (2023–2024), and leads research into astronaut mental health, ethics, and team performance for deep space missions. Prof. Kim is also engaged in space science initiatives at Kookmin University, including research on astronaut health countermeasures, risk management, and crew dynamics for future Mars exploration.
