Short CV: Dr. Preeti Sawant is an Indian General Surgery professional and Space Surgery researcher, currently serving as an Astronaut Candidate with Titans Space for the 2025–2029 cohort. She completed her medical training at the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and the National Board of Examinations, with her work situated at the intersection of surgery, global health and space healthcare.She is a member of the Space and Global Health Taskforce, an initiative by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs and serves as Co-Chair of the Global Surgery Working Group within the World Medical Association Junior Doctors' Network. She is passionate to explore and advance surgical care and space healthcare to the evolving needs of a space-faring species.Beyond her professional endeavors, she enjoys running, swimming and skating.
