Short CV: Fama Jallow is a trailblazing aerospace engineer and space science advocate from The Gambia, recognized as the country’s first licensed female drone pilot and a pivotal voice in African space education. She was selected as the first Gambian astronaut candidate for the Titans Space Industries 2025–2029 program, marking a historic milestone for national and regional representation in human spaceflight.As African Space Education Program Coordinator and National Point of Contact for The Gambia under the Space Generation Advisory Council, Fama drives outreach, capacity building, and STEM engagement with youth across Africa, collaborating with the United Nations Programme on Space Applications. Her efforts focus on democratizing access to space science, fostering African participation in the global space race, and tailoring space programs to Africa’s unique development needs. She excels in aerospace engineering, machine learning, robotics, and geographic information systems, actively participating in sustainability research, including green hydrogen and additive manufacturing.A fellow of YALI, a prestigious U.S. leadership initiative, Fama empowers future leaders through her co-founded nonprofit Unitalks and speaks widely on the role of women in STEM.
