Saumya Shekhar
Short CV: Saumya Shekhar is an aerospace engineer focused on propulsion, fire science, and systems engineering, pursuing an M.Sc. at TU Darmstadt (after a B.Tech. from SRM). He has hands-on flight hardware experience as a structures engineer and PAP during integration on TUDSAT’s FORDO-J student rocket to a successful launch; earlier, he worked in propulsion at STAR Labs Surat—where nozzle updates and a novel grip method improved test success rate by 92%—and trained at Air India Engineering Services across PW4056, CFM56, GE90/GEnx, and APU modules. He also contributed to rover mechanical integration at Team Indus, reviewed by ISRO mission leads. Toolchain: CATIA V5, NX, ANSYS, MSC Nastran/Patran, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, LaTeX, NASA CEA; languages: English (C1), German (A2).His main projects are the Unite! Concurrent Design Engineering Hub “Closed-Loop Tiny House” as Systems Engineer integrated thermal/power/“smart garden subsystems and achieved full automation, and used MBSE/COMET to drive 5+ iterations that cut integration risk by ~30% and the Acoustic-Assisted Fire Propagation program built the rig, quantified acoustic vs. non-acoustic flame behavior, and co-invented a sound-wave fire-suppression device. He has 20+ publications spanning human Mars exploration, hypersonics, space debris, green propellants, and fire supression and thermoacoustics. he volunteers as a JPL citizen scientist (20 preliminary Main Belt object discoveries) and is a member of VDI. Core strengths are propulsion, combustion & fire engineering, rover mechanics, aerodynamics and end-to-end systems integration.
