Short CV: Sotirios Zormpas is a Systems Engineer at Lunar Outpost EU, specializing in thermal and energy systems for lunar surface missions. He holds an MSc in Space Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (2023), where his thesis focused on thermal control and energy storage solutions for lunar night survival in collaboration with Lunar Outpost EU. Previously, he earned a BEng (Hons) in Aerospace Engineering with Space Technology from the University of Hertfordshire (2020), completing a dissertation on design optimization in cooperation with Hanon Systems. Zormpas has presented research at the International Astronautical Congress and has received accolades including NASA’s Best Prototype Demonstration (RASC-AL 2022) and the Royal Aeronautical Society’s RE Bishop Aerospace Design Award (2021).
