Short CV: Madhu Mitha Srinivasan is an aspiring astrobiology research scientist, entrepreneur, and multidisciplinary STEM talent from India, driven by the mission to contribute to space projects that go beyond mere survival focusing instead on health, adaptability, and thriving life beyond Earth. Partnering entrepreneurially with the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, she envisions curating technologies and biological models that enable long-duration space missions and sustainability both in space and on Earth, while actively mentoring young women in STEM and creating communities that democratize access to space science for underrepresented voices.Her academic path, rooted in molecular biology, is shaped to serve space biosciences particularly space genomics and transcriptomics. Madhu’s research targets the mechanisms of genetic and post-transcriptional regulation in extraterrestrial environments, aiming to unlock pathways for sustainable off-Earth living. She currently works with extremophiles (notably actinomycetes), stem cells, and prion-forming proteins, exploring their potential for space adaptation and biological state-switching. As an Analog Astronaut Trainee with MMAARS through the Cosmic Girls Foundation, she has trained in field analog missions and acquired psychological resilience skills for extreme mission environments.Madhu has been selected for the prestigious CIP’25 program at Stanford University and actively advocates for science outreach and interdisciplinary learning. Beyond STEM, she leads a thriving creative life with notable achievements in choreography for Bharatanatyam and contemporary ballet, theatre arts, film criticism, and literature—living by her motto: “Wherever my curiosity flows, I follow it unapologetically. And wherever I go, I strive to create something meaningful, for myself and for the community.”
